Message	This is from Tuesday night. I'll be working on it again tonight and over the weekend. The light area on the outer part of the lip is what I'm talking about. I know it's all rough now, but from about 1/3 of the way up to the edge stays that rough even after sequential sanding, from 200 to 320, 400, 500, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, up to polish. The nick on the left is where the gouge started, so the majority of it is gone, but I didn't want to remove too much material to get that last nick out. I don't believe there was ever a clearcoat on these wheels, because I was able to polish them previously with some Blue Magic or Mothers AL polish and see a difference. Other clearcoated wheels I've seen have a plastic like finish which you can't polish, but rather only clean and wax. I guess I just need to spend more time with the lower grades from 400-800 to smooth it out and get a good base. Eventually I'll get the wheels rebuilt, but for now I just wanted a little bit of a touch up. The fronts came out great, and I'm sure the other rear will as well, but this was by far the worst wheel and needed the most work.
